    Dassault Systèmes and Lattice Technology Team Up with Industry to Develop 3D XML for Product Lifecycle Management

    Nearly 5 Million CAD Solid Modeling Seats Says Wohlers Report
    FORT COLLINS, Colorado, June 25, 2004 - Wohlers Associates, Inc., in cooperation with industry analyst Joe Greco, has announced that 4.96 million mechanical CAD (MCAD) seats were installed worldwide through the end of 2003. This total includes both commercial and educational seats. The leading MCAD product family in cumulative commercial installations, according to the study, is Pro/ENGINEER, followed by CATIA, Unigraphics (including IDEAS), Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, SolidWorks, and Solid Edge. Among the MCAD products not counted were Alibre, KeyCreator (formerly CADKEY), OneSpace Designer, IronCAD, thinkdesign, VX CAD/CAM, and Cobalt (formally Vellum Solids).

    Proficiency licensed LGS 2D – two-dimension variational solver by LEDAS
    NOVOSIBIRSK, Russia – 15 June 2004. LEDAS announced that Proficiency has licensed the LEDAS LGS geometric solver and has integrated it in Proficiency's Collaboration Gateway feature-based interoperability solution. The LGS 2D solver is being used to support the exchange of 2D geometric constraints present in the CAD systems currently supported by Proficiency, including CATIA(R) V4, CATIA(R) V5, I-DEAS NX(R) Series, Pro/ENGINEER(R), and Unigraphics(tm) NX Series.

    OAO "Uralorgsintez" (OAO AK "Sibur") became the 2000th customer of ASCON
    OAO "Uralorgsintez" (Tchaikovsky, Perm region) became the 2000th customer of ASCON. KOMPAS software, developed by ASCON, is used by Uralorgsintez for design of equipment and building units. Today about 20 seats are installed in RD department and mechanician office. The basic system KOMPAS-GRAFIK is used together with dedicated applications (Engineering library, Drawing of buildings and constructions plans library, Library "Building constructions and profiles", Material directory and other).

    Autodesk First Quarter Revenues Increase 41 Percent
    SAN RAFAEL, Calif., May 18, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Autodesk, Inc.     CAM Software Market Leaders Named
    ANN ARBOR, Michigan, May 12, 2004 — CIMdata recently named UGS PLM Solutions, IBM/Dassault Systẻmes, CNC Software, and SolidCAM as the 2003 worldwide CAM software market leaders. Each was a leader in a different ranking used by CIMdata to position NC software vendors. UGS PLM Solutions was identified as being the largest CAM software supplier on the basis of the dollar volume of NC software and services revenues received by a vendor. IBM/Dassault Systẻmes (IBM/DS), however, is the largest vendor on the basis of end user payments for NC software and services. This grouping not only includes the revenues received by the vendor, but also the revenues retained by business partners or resellers. CNC Software continues to be the market leader on the basis of number of software seats sold and installed in industrial markets. This ranking measures the pervasiveness of the product. SolidCAM, an Israeli firm, was named as the most rapidly growing vendor among the significant NC software suppliers.

    Russia’s Sukhoi Civil Aircraft to Develop Regional Jet Fleet using PLM Solutions from IBM and Dassault Systèmes

    Dassault Systèmes announces First Quarter 2004 results
    PARIS, FRANCE, April 29, 2004 – Dassault Systèmes (DS) (Nasdaq: DASTY; Euronext Paris: #13065, DSY.PA), a worldwide leading software developer of product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions, reported financial results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2004. First Quarter Financial Highlights: Total revenue ?176.2 million, up 4% as reported and up 10% in constant currencies; Software revenue ?148.9 million, up 3% as reported and up 9% in constant currencies; PDM revenue up 15% as reported and 22% in constant currencies; Design-centric revenue up 7% as reported (up 25% in U.S. dollars); Operating margin 24.3% and EPS ?0.24 on U.S. GAAP Basis; EPS excluding acquisition costs up 19% to ?0.25 per diluted share in the 2004 first quarter on 3 percentage point operating margin improvement to 24.7% before acquisitions costs.
