    SU-34 in the air!
    Sukhoi Company (JSC), a Russia's major aircraft holding company, today announces that the first serial fighter-bomber Su-34 has taken off from the airdrome of the Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association (NAPO). It was built for Russian Air Force in the framework of a government contractual work.

    During its 75 years history NAPO http://www.napo.ru/eng/ has manufactured dozens of thousands of military aircraft designed by famous aircraft designers Polikarpov, Yakovlev, Mikoyan and Gurevitch, Antonov, Sukhoi. The company assures support of aircraft within all their life cycle, including spare parts supply, repair and modernization, training of flight and engineering personnel. It is also one of the major manufacturers involved in RRJ aircraft program.

    NAPO is actively applying PLM solutions to support the aircrafts life cycles. Its representatives gave technical talks on the application of PLM for aircraft industry on isicad-2004 and isicad-2006 PLM forums organized in Novosibirsk by LEDAS Ltd.

    Airbus to restructure after A380 crisis: shares of Russian and Chinese suppliers will be increased
    The new chief executive of Airbus today outlined a vast restructuring plan for the ailing aircraft maker that could involve major job cuts and shifting more production out of Western Europe.

    Restructuring is intended to increase shares of Russian and Chinese suppliers. New partners will produce about 15% of components for À380 and up to 35% for À350.

    Recently, Vneshtorgbank, the second-largest state Russian bank, acquired 5% shares of EADS, which owns 80% of Airbus.
